MVCAC Annual Conference Mentorship Program: Year Two | Application Deadline: November 10

About the Program
The MVCAC Mentorship Program welcomes new and emerging professionals to the association by pairing them with experienced MVCAC leaders. Building on last year’s pilot, this year’s pairs are matched earlier so they have time to build a relationship before they meet in person at the Annual Conference. We are looking for approximately 20 participants, or 10 mentor and mentee pairs.

Goals

  • Help new and emerging professionals feel welcomed and oriented
  • Give pairs real time to connect before the conference
  • Encourage meaningful engagement at the Annual Conference
  • Promote connections across regions and job roles
  • Offer experienced members a manageable way to give back

Who Can Participate

  • Mentees: new and emerging professionals who plan to attend the Annual Conference, nominated by their district manager
  • Mentors: experienced members, committee chairs, and past mentors who self-nominate

How to Apply
Applications are due November 10. District managers may nominate an employee as a mentee, and members interested in serving as a mentor may submit their interest, using one short form:

How It Works

  1. Applications are accepted now through November 10
  2. Pairs are matched with attention to region, job role, and professional interests, and are notified before Thanksgiving
  3. Participants complete a short Connection Worksheet and join a virtual kickoff call the week of December 7
  4. A brief virtual check-in follows in January
  5. At the Annual Conference, pairs attend an in-person briefing on Sunday, January 24 at 5:00 pm, followed by early entry to the Welcome Reception
  6. Pairs share a few simple activities during the conference, such as attending a session together, walking the exhibit hall, or sharing a meal
  7. A post-conference check-in and group debrief close out the program

Benefits of Participating

  • A built-in connection before arriving at the conference
  • Introductions to other MVCAC members and leaders
  • Early entry to the Welcome Reception with an extra drink ticket
  • A clear, structured time commitment with room for flexibility
