The mission of the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California (MVCAC) is to provide quality public information, comprehensive mosquito and vector-borne disease surveillance, training to high professional standards, and effective legislative advocacy on behalf of California mosquito and vector control districts in an effort to protect the health of people living and visiting California.
What We Do:
MVCAC is the leading voice and advocate for mosquito and vector control in the California Legislature. Each year, the organization hosts a Legislative Day at the State Capitol where participants meet with legislators and decision makers to promote the importance of mosquito and vector control. History
California’s Mosquito Abatement Districts Act (AB 1590) was enacted in 1915. This legislation was a result of the threat mosquitoes posed to California’s economic development and health and well-being of its citizens. A century later, the threat is just as great, and efforts to combat mosquitoes and other vectors are even more critical to protect more than 38 million Californians. Learn more »
