Supervising Environmental Health Specialist, Riverside County DEH

Description: The Riverside County Department of Environmental Health is recruiting for a Supervisor within the Vector Control Program.  Under general direction, this position plans, coordinates, and supervises the Vector Control program activities; along with performing the full range of supervisor and other related duties as required. 

Supervisor duties include, but are not limited to: oversight of program staff and resources; field inspections; complaint investigations; advising and consulting with the public, neighboring agencies, and property owners regarding compliance with state and local environmental health laws, codes and regulations; review and verification of service contracts, fiscal billings and invoices; and reviewing of program policies and procedures to maximize the program impact.

Minimum requirements for this position include: 1 – Possession of valid Registered Environmental Health Specialist certification issued by the California Department of Public Health; and 2 – Possession of a valid California Driver License; and 3 – Minimum of one year work experience as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist equivalent to Riverside County’s Environmental Health Specialist IV, or a minimum of two years equivalent to Riverside County’s Environmental Health Specialist III.

Current Vector Control Technician certification by the California Department of Public Health is highly desirable.
