Description: At Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District, we’re committed to protecting public health in Placer County. Our staff is key to this commitment. Our District’s internship program is an effort to inspire, develop and recruit young talent to the science and vector control field. Internship opportunities at the District seasonally provide on-the-job experience in field operations, research, lab activities, public outreach and social media. Each internship cumulates with a final report and is led at the direction of a full-time staff member.

The Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District seeks a part-time intern to develop and create engaging and creative social media and digital media content for the District. This position offers the opportunity to use communications skills while experiencing what it’s like to work at a special district and in the public health field while having fun during summer! You will learn the ins and outs of public outreach, how to manage social media communities and how to develop consistent and engaging social media campaigns that adhere to brand standards and educate the public. This role is active and will require some outside work when capturing photos and videos of fieldwork or filming content.
