Call for Papers, Presentations and Posters
The Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California (MVCAC) will hold its 90th Annual Conference February 6-9 2022 at the Sacramento Convention Center and Sheraton Grand hotel. You are invited to submit a paper or poster for presentation at the conference. Presentations should be related to mosquitoes or other vectors, the disease organisms they transmit, or their surveillance and control.
Presentations may be about research results, the development and testing of new methods, equipment or products, education, community outreach and the adaptation or development of new technology relating to vector research, surveillance or control, or the administration of a vector control agency.
If you are interested in presenting a paper or poster, please complete the attached “Request to Present a Paper” form. An extended abstract is REQUIRED for all presentations and posters. Abstracts may be made available to participants before or at the conference and will appear in the Proceedings and Papers of MVCAC. Presenters may choose to replace their abstract with a paper for publication in the Proceedings. Please see the Guidelines for Contributors for more information.
With limited time for presentations, final scheduled oral presentations will be at the discretion of the Program Committee. All Posters will be accepted.
Presenters will be notified by November 5, 2021 if they are accepted as a speaker and be given the time allotted for their presentation. Presenters who are not selected for an oral presentation will be invited to present a poster.
Posters will be mounted on large poster holders, as has been done in years past. Please bring your poster un-mounted; presenters will attach their posters to the poster board with straight pins, thumbtacks or clips (provided by MVCAC). Posters will be located near the exhibit hall and registration areas. Please plan to stand by your poster during the designated “Poster Session Luncheon” when attendees walk around and ask authors questions. The designated Poster Luncheon will be announced as we are closer to the event. Posters must be set up by Sunday evening, February 6, 2022 so they also can be seen during the opening evening reception. Posters should be taken down between 1:00 and 4:00 PM on Tuesday February 8, 2022.
All presenters must register for the conference and are responsible for registration and arranging their own travel.
Deadline for submission of the completed “Request to Present a Paper” form is Friday October 8, 2021. Requests received after the deadline may not be accepted.
