The Assembly Committee on Accountability and Administrative Review (AAR) held a hearing at the State Capitol on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 to continue its deliberations on the topic of “California Special Districts: Discussion and Vote on Recommendations.” MVCAC staff attended the meeting to keep MVCAC members apprised of the Committee`s deliberations. Please download the staff notes. Of importance to note is that prior Committee staff recommendations were quite extensive. Through recent collaborative activities between all special district associations to meet with Legislators and Committee staff regarding special district governance structure, services, and accountability/transparency activities, the Committee recommendations have been amended.
